The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team
reached the 100-point plateau for the first time this season to
earn a road win at St. Mary of the Woods College (IN). The Lady
Lynx took down the SMWC Pomeroys 100-78.
LC controlled the tempo of play thought the game, steadily
increasing their lead each quarter. At the end of the first
half, Lincoln led by nine (49-40), then outscored SMWC 24-14 in
the third quarter to put the game out of reach. LC was then able
to cruise to a 22-point victory to improve their overall record
to 9-11.
LC had two players record double-doubles in this game. One of
them was Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford) led the team in points
scored with 24 and in rebounds with 14, and the other was junior
Erynn Young (Indianapolis, IN) who went for 20 points and
grabbed 10 rebounds. Lincoln Community High School grad Hannah
Cameron and Chicago native Nautica Preston each scored 14 points
as well.
Next up for Lincoln is a home game on January 20th at 1:00 PM
against Cottey College.
