Selection and Reproduction Management Seminar scheduled for January
29th in Lincoln

Producers will have the opportunity to attend
the annual Beef Selection and Reproduction Management Seminar held
at the American Legion, Lincoln, IL. The meeting will start at 5:15
pm and conclude at 8:30 pm.

Travis Meteer, University of Illinois Beef Extension Educator,
will talk on selection and development of replacement heifers
and give an update on the Illinois Performance Tested Bull Sale.
Dr. Doug Parrett, University of Illinois, will cover
incorporating EPDs into bull selection and offer insight to
future use of EPDs in selection.
Justin Adcock with Boehringer Ingelheim will discuss extending
parasite control in your cattle herd.
Shandy Bertilino, Vita-Ferm, will speak about the advantages of
a breeding season focused mineral program.
Barney Gehl, Zoetis will discuss genetic testing opportunities
for advancing selection of desired traits.
Dr. Teresa Steckler will review successful synchronization
programs and Kevin Devore, ABS, will speak on future trends in
the beef industry. “The program covers important information
that producers can directly implement and turn into dollars in
their pocket.” comments Meteer.
