The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team extended
their winning streak to four-in-a-row on Sunday with a 70-57 win at
home over Cottey College. The Lady Lynx have won six of their last
seven games and improved to 10-11 on the year.
LC was in control throughout most of the first half, and enjoyed a
comfortable 24-point lead at halftime. Cottey outscored Lincoln 16-9
in the third quarter, but it was not enough to stop LC from cruising
to a 13-point victory.
Sophomore forward Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford) had another impressive
performance, recording a double-double with team-highs in points
(17) and rebounds (13). Junior Erynn Young (Indianapolis, IN) was
good for 11 points while five other Lady Lynx got on the scoreboard
with seven or more points in the game.
LC will look to make if five-in-a-row on January 23rd when they will
host Clarke University at 5:30 PM.
