Sheriff Mark Landers would like to remind Logan County residents to lock the
doors of their vehicles and to lock the doors and windows of their homes. The
suspects in this case predominately chose vehicles and buildings that were left
unsecured.
Furthermore, firearms should be secured at all times. A loaded handgun was taken
from an unsecured vehicle in Mount Pulaski. Investigators were able to make the
arrests a few hours after the handgun was reported stolen. However, this could
have ended tragically.
The arrests were the culmination of a cooperative effort between the Logan
County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and Mount Pulaski Police.
