[January 23, 2019]  LINCOLN - Verniece E. “Totty” Hoffert, 97, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday January 24, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church

Service:  11 a.m. Thursday at the church

Obituary

Verniece E. “Totty” Hoffert, 97, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Totty was born on November 6, 1921, in Lincoln, the daughter of Reynold and Cora (West) Liesman. She married Robert Hoffert on August 9, 1941, in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2005.

Surviving Totty are her children: Roberta (Darrell) Wibben, Donald (Karen) Hoffert, Joyce (Steve) Geary, and Darwin (Beth) Hoffert all of Lincoln, one sister Ruth Steffens of Litchfield; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Allen Hoffert, daughter-in-law Odette Hoffert, three brothers, and three sisters.

Totty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, where she was very active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s ball games, Lincoln Railer games, and camping.

Services for Totty will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 24, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service (9:00-11:00 a.m.).

Memorials may be made in Totty’s name to Zion Lutheran Church.

Family burial at Old Union Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
