The next 3-hour class will be held Sunday, January 27 from 1pm –
4pm. The class will be held in Steinfort A at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital located at 200 Stahlhut Drive in Lincoln,
Illinois.
Kathy Vogt, Registered Nurse and Lamaze Certified Childbirth
Educator, will be teaching the class that is designed for expectant
families. The class will teach participants how to know when it’s
time to come to the hospital, what to expect during labor and
delivery, breathing techniques and other pain relief options. The
class will also touch on newborn feeding and care. After the
classroom portion of the course, participants will be shown the
Family Maternity Suites at ALMH.
“We are pleased to offer these classes to the community and we
encourage expecting mothers and their support partners to attend.
The birth process, even for second time mothers, can be both
overwhelming and joyful. The knowledge mothers gain from our
prenatal class helps lessen their anxiety. Information is
empowering,” said Elizabeth Meyrick, RN, Manager of the Obstetrical
Unit.
