NYCFC part ways with Berget

[January 26, 2019]    New York City FC is mutually parting ways with forward Jo Inge Berget, the club announced Friday.

NYCFC said the two sides agreed to terminate Berget's contract.

Berget, 28, tallied four goals and three assists in 23 games (19 starts) in 2018, his lone season with the club.

Berget, who is from Norway, has played overseas in Italy, Sweden, Wales and Scotland in addition to Norway. He scored 79 overseas goals before giving MLS a try.

He has 20 career international appearances, scoring twice.
