The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team picked up their 17th win
of the season on Saturday with a 72-59 victory at home over Silver
Lake College from Wisconsin.
The Lynx (17-7) never trailed in this contest, taking a 13-point
lead into the halftime break and extending their advantage to as
many as 20 points in the second half.
Lincoln’s senior guard Lejavius Johnson (Glenwood) turned in a
monster game, leading his team in points scored with 22 and pulling
down 14 rebounds to record a double-double. Senior forward J.J.
Turner (Chicago) had a team high 18 rebounds, while Darnell Latham
Jr. (Chicago) and Trayvon Tyler (Rockford) also reached
double-digits in scoring for LC. Latham was good for 19 points and

LC Head Coach Pat Lepper liked the effort he saw from his players in
this game. “We did a nice job of rebounding today, especially in the
second half,” said Lepper. “I thought we could have done a better
job on the offensive side of the court, but the defensive effort we
put out on the floor more than made up for it.”
Lincoln’s next test will be a road game on Wednesday, January 30th
at Indiana University Northwest. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
