The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team won in convincing
fashion on Saturday afternoon. LC used a 30-point first quarter
offensive performance to open up a big lead. The Lady Lynx only gave
up eight points to the visiting team from Silver Lake College in the
opening period then cruised to a 35-point victory which improved the
team’s record on the season to 11-12.
Four players for Lincoln scored in double-digits in this game with
Chicago native Nautica Preston leading the way. Preston went
7-for-12 from the field including hitting five three-pointers to
total a team-high 20 points. Sophomore Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford)
recorded another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Lincoln Head Coach DeRonte Polite appreciates the effort his players
are putting into the season. “Earlier this week we lost and I was
proud of them. Today we won and I am proud of them,” said Polite.
“We always want a winning outcome, but we are trying to become more
focused on the process each and every day. Win or lose, we judge
ourselves by the process and we are becoming more consistent at
performing all of the many processes it takes to give us the best
opportunity to win games.”
Next up for Lincoln is a road game on January 30th at Indiana
University Northwest in Gary, Indiana. Game time is 5:30 PM.
