From food or shelter to counselling or emergency
utility assistance to summer youth programs and gifts under the tree
at Christmas time, Salvation Army is there for the community.
Here are some of the programs offered locally through
Salvation Army.
Supportive Housing: Pathway of Hope Program POH
Coverage area includes Cass, Christian, Logan, Mason, Menard,
Moultrie, Schuyler, and Shelby counties. Serves individuals, and
families to become economically self-sufficient. The program uses
the URICA, Herth Hope, and Client Self Sufficiency Matrix to
establish: needs assessments, potential for change, and how hopeful
the client is. Case management is held 1(x) a week, and provides
support through resume building, interview skills, budget planning,
GED finances, personal care items, gas cards, SHOW bus vouchers,
obtain legal documents and IDs, Substance abuse (Drug tests &
partial payments toward outpatient services), partial payments
towards mental health services, and referrals to other agencies in
the community.
Grant Per Diem GPD, Bridge Transitional Housing
Temporary housing assistance for homeless veterans trying to find
permanent housing. The program covers Central Illinois. The program
provides intensive case management, referral services and
transportation assistance to veterans in the program. GPD offers
employment assistance; help with applying for Social Security and/or
VA benefits, Links to numerous community resources and services,
Life skills training, assistance with finding/securing housing as
well as resources to help maintain housing, and transportation to
appointments. There are 11 transitional housing beds available in
Lincoln and 9 available in Bloomington.
Food Pantry
Open Mon-Thurs 10am-1pm. Available 1(x) a month for the community,
and 1(x) a week for those in the POH program. This also includes the
Harvest Supply Program through the Lincoln Pizza Hut.

Utility Assistance
Project H2O Illinois American water assistance is available to Logan County
residents and customers. The program is a matching funds program with a max
amount pay of $150.00. Ameren Energy Assistance is available at a matching rate
under $200.00 to Mason and Logan County residents through Warm Neighbors Cool
Friends WNCF.
Pastoral Counseling
Provided through the Salvation Army’s Director of Lincoln Service Extension,
Tony Shuff. The Salvation Army hopes to be able to include local community
church leaders as well. All recipients of services are offered pastoral
counseling, though it is not a requirement.
Holiday & Seasonal Assistance
Seven free summer camps for kids ages 7-16. Christmas season offers
Adopt-A-Family & Angel Tree, Bell ringing hours, and limited food vouchers. Food
Baskets are available for Easter.
EDS
Emergency Disaster Services works alongside the first responders, such as the
police departments and fire departments. EDS will help support each community
when disasters like floods or fires occur. EDS will look to provide water
bottles during police or fire fighter training events to show support. EDS will
look to provide disaster clean up materials, and has been gifted a mobile
canteen vehicle in 2019, which distributes food and water to those struck by
disaster. EDS also helps with cash assistance for victims of disasters.
