Obituary
Timothy Rourke Thornton 1955 - 2019
Timothy R. Thornton died suddenly, June 23, 2019, in
St. Louis, Missouri, after his bicycle was struck by
a pickup truck in Wildwood, Missouri. Tim was 64.
Tim was born to Robert Leo and Mary Ellen Thornton
(Hickey) on March 20, 1955, in Lincoln, Illinois.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Robert;
brother, Kevin; and sister-in-law, Becky. He is
survived by his mother, Mary Ellen. He is also
survived by, and was the adored husband of, his wife
of 36 years of Teresa (Terry) Luth Thornton; beloved
father to Patrick (Emily), Dr. Katie (Brenden Bruss),
Meaghan (Bryan Rogers) and Pop Pop to Grace
Elizabeth. His surviving brothers are Michael and
Ted of Lincoln. |
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, June 30,
2019, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Buccholz Mortuary West at 2211
Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017. A celebration of life mass
will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Saint Anselm at the Abbey,
530 South Mason Road, St. Louis, MO 63141. Further service details

flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tim’s name to
Gateway Greening in St. Louis, or to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon
Children’s Hospital.
