Community to host talk by Carroll Richards

LINCOLN
The Center for Creativity & Community will be hosting a talk by
Carroll Richards on his involvement in the civil rights movement,
Wednesday, July 10th, at 2-3:00 PM. It is free and open to the
public. Richards marched in the MLK Memorial March in Memphis in
1968 (pictured in photo).
Richards has been a pastor/chaplain throughout his career and has
lived in Lincoln for the past 25 years. He is a former pastor of
First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is currently a chaplain at
ALMH. He was in Memphis attending seminary when the events of 1968
happened which led to his involvement with civil rights.
The Center, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, is
located at 301 Pekin Street. It opened this year with a free summer
youth program for 6th to 8th graders.

Its purpose is to provide a place for youth to be themselves, explore their
creativity, and strengthen their connection within and with others. The program
is Tuesdays thru Thursdays,12:30-5:00 PM, until August 1st. Youth are welcome to
