LINCOLN

The Center for Creativity & Community will be hosting a talk by Carroll Richards on his involvement in the civil rights movement, Wednesday, July 10th, at 2-3:00 PM. It is free and open to the public. Richards marched in the MLK Memorial March in Memphis in 1968 (pictured in photo).

Richards has been a pastor/chaplain throughout his career and has lived in Lincoln for the past 25 years. He is a former pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is currently a chaplain at ALMH. He was in Memphis attending seminary when the events of 1968 happened which led to his involvement with civil rights.

The Center, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, is located at 301 Pekin Street. It opened this year with a free summer youth program for 6th to 8th graders.
