LINCOLN
I write this with so much grateful love for my community as I am not
seeking re-election in 2020. When I was 18 a wonderful woman gave me
an opportunity – a job which little did I know then would become my
career. I wish to thank Judy Morrow for this. As the years passed I
was then given the honor of being elected in 2010 as Logan County
Circuit Clerk by the citizens of Logan County.
I am so lucky to have had the support of my family and friends who
believed in me. My number one priority was always to be the very
best public servant and to always offer some resource to any given
situation. I never once said I can’t help you in turn I always tried
my very best to find that resource.
Over these past 41 plus years I have been involved with many
transitions which took place in the office. We have evolved from
hand writing in very large and heavy books to electronically filing
of documents. I have worked on retrieving our older records from a
storage facility so the records not filmed per statute are on site
and easy to access, securing court exhibits, imaging of documents
for the courts viewing, electronically filing appeal records, and at
the same time staying financially responsible with office funds.
In January of 2012 I was appointed to the Illinois Association of
Court Clerks Executive Board where I climbed the “ranks” as
secretary, treasurer, 2nd vice president, 1st vice president, and in
2016 I was elected as president of the association which encompasses
102 Illinois counties.

In 2017 I was asked to be a part of the E-file configuration group. In 2018 I
was asked to be a part of the E-research pilot program as the state mandated
electronic filings were being implemented/working out the logistics. This area
has been a challenge for both the clerk’s offices and the public. To the best of
my office abilities we have strived to help this transition to be as painless as
possible.
I want to thank my office staff for their dedication to both myself and to the
county as they have represented both in a top notch manner. A good supervisor is
only as good as her staff and I can honestly say I have had the great honor and
pleasure to work with the best.
As much as I have enjoyed my career and meeting so very many awesome people I am
looking forward to the next chapter in my life – retirement with my husband.
Thank you for your support and confidence in me Logan County, Illinois. It has
been an honor.
