Post 263 senior team concludes 2019 season

Three games over the weekend in the Minnesota Gopher Tournament brought Post 263’s senior team’s 2019 season to an end.

Post 263 started by split a pair of games on Saturday. They dropped game 1 to Farmington (Minnesota), 8 to 4. Down 3 to 0 after two innings, Post 263 ralled in the bottom of the third. After Eddie Saner was hit by a pitch, Nate Arnold tripled him in. Arnold then scored on a wild pitch. However, after the next two batters reached, Post 263 wasn’t able to score again in the inning. Farmington then pulled away late.

In game 2 Saturday, Post 263 won the pitcher’s duel, 2 to 1, against host Maple Grove. Chad Saner, Junior pitched a complete game five-hitter, while striking out nine and allowing no walks. James White had two hits, including the decisive two-out, two-run double in the top of the third.

On Sunday, Post 263 dropped its final game of the season, 4 to 1, to Eastview (Apple Valley, Minnesota). Eddie Saner and Brenden Eigenbrod each had two hits, while Chad Saner, Junior knocked in Post 263’s only run.

Post 263 went 12 and 7 during the regular season, before going 1 and 4 in the Minnesota Gopher Tournament, for a final 2019 record of 13 and 11.
