The warmer weather did not stop people from attending the Friday
Night Street Fest in Mount Pulaski last Friday night. The Mount
Pulaski Business Association, in coordination with the City of Mount
Pulaski and the Hilltop Club, invited people out for the Second
Friday on the Square, with tents and food-stands found on Cooke and
Washington Streets. Community members browsed and caught up with one
another and socialized (with some in lawn chairs).
Vendors on the square offered a wide variety of wares to look
through, including fresh produce and sweet corn; various
hand-crafted items such as jewelry, beads, stained glass and wax
works; body art and face painting; clothing from the “Chique Unique
Boutique” and other vendors; Tupperware; and more.
There was plenty of food to choose from as well, such as baked goods
for the benefit of Lyndsey Marshall to help with her recovery from
injuries due to a recent automobile accident.

Other food included grilled pork chop sandwiches; Marvis Dogs selling
hand-dipped corn dogs, lemonade shake-ups and mini donuts; Nuthatch Hill BBQ;
and Kona Ice of Springfield-Taylorville selling shaved ice.
Finally, toward the end of the evening, live music started up for people to
enjoy featuring Allie Keck. Overall, it was a good night for people to be
outside with others to enjoy a few festivities.
