Lowry, who began 2019 ranked No. 75 in the
official world golf rankings, jumped 16 spots to No. 17 after
last week's triumph at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. The
Irishman was in his hometown of Clara on Tuesday for an event at
his country club to celebrate his six-stroke victory.
The WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational begins Thursday at TPC
Southwind with a strong field that includes world No. 1 Brooks
Koepka, Irishman Rory McIlroy (coming off his missed cut at the
Open Championship), Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, Justin
Rose and defending champion Justin Thomas.
Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler and Francesco Molinari are among
those not competing this week.
