The Lincoln College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of William Hudson as Women’s Soccer coach. Hudson comes to Lincoln College after guiding the Illinois Central College Women’s Soccer team for four season.

Coach Hudson says he looking forward to the challenge of rebuilding the Lynx soccer program which has not competed since the fall of 2016. “What attracted me to this opportunity was the tremendous potential I see to develop a strong team quickly,” said Hudson. “The school’s location, facilities and academic offerings will help in the recruitment of student-athletes in the area and from out-of-state.”

Hudson comes to LC with a strong track record of building competitive women’s soccer programs. At Illinois Central, Hudson joined the Cougars during a period of rebuilding and went 5-12 during his first season. Through strategic recruiting and hard work, he was able to turn things around quickly and saw significant improvements each season. In 2018, Hudson’s team went 15-4, won their conference and made an appearance in the region semi-final.

In addition to his college coaching experience at the junior college level, Hudson has coached at the high school and youth levels. Most recently, he guided the Washington Community High School girl’s program for eight successful seasons and is currently the director of the Peoria-based Happy Feet Mobile Soccer Clinic which operates youth soccer clinics at park districts throughout central Illinois.

Lincoln College Athletic Director Mark Perdue is pleased to be adding Hudson to his staff. “William has the experience and connections needed to get our women’s soccer program going in the right direction quickly,” said Perdue. “I am confident he will hit the ground running and be an outstanding addition to our department.”

Hudson, who lives in Washington, Illinois with his wife and four children, says that recruiting will be his main focus in the short term. “Central Illinois has a lot of talented players, so I intend to start there and then widen my search efforts out to include the Quad cities, Chicago and St. Louis,” said Hudson. “I will also continue to use the connections I have developed for recruiting international student-athletes to bring in players from overseas.”
