Post 263 cruises to another postseason win on Tuesday night

A four-run fourth inning keyed Post 263’s senior team in the 4th Division Tournament on Tuesday night as they defeated Mattoon, 6 to 3.

Tied at 1 after three innings on an RBI double by Nate Arnold, he started the big rally with a single. With the bases loaded and two-out, Trent Koehler delivered a two-run to give Post 263 its first lead of the game. Post 263 batted around in the inning, with Arnold knocking in Post 263’s other two runs in the inning with a double.

Mattoon scored twice in the last of the 7th to set the final score.

Colton Holliday starred on the mound for Post 263 in picking up the win. He tossed six innings, striking out eight while allowing four hits and four walks. He allowed only one run (one earned).

Post 263 is now 3-1 in the 4th Division Tournament. The postseason continues Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. in Mattoon.
