Lincoln College Athletic Director Mark Perdue is pleased to announce that Birmingham, Alabama native Victoria Crawford will be the school’s next Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Crawford takes over a team that went 16-13 in their first season of play as a varsity member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Crawford says she is excited about the opportunity to lead the Lady Lynx basketball program. “I am looking forward to doing my best to continue the success that the women’s team has had here at Lincoln College,” said Crawford. “I am proud to be joining a school with a rich history, high academic standards, and strong community support for athletics,” she added.

Victoria Crawford brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience at both the collegiate and professional levels to her new position. Last season she was the head coach at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, and from 2017 to 2018 Crawford was an assistant coach at the University of Southern Mississippi (NCAA DI). Prior to coaching at USM, Crawford spent five seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Miles College, an NCAA DII school in Fairfield, Alabama.

During her playing career, Crawford found success at all levels of competition. During her senior season of high school, she led the state of Alabama in scoring, averaging 27 points-per-game and then accepted a scholarship to play at NCAA DI University of Memphis. Crawford’s accomplishments at U of M include multiple selections to All-Conference teams, earning the Conference USA’s Sixth Player of the Year award in 2004, setting the team’s single season steals record, and helping lead her team to a post-season appearance in 2004.

After graduating from U of M with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Broadcasting Electronic Media degree, Crawford completed a Masters of Business Administration degree at Walden University before beginning her professional playing career. After being invited to several WNBA tryouts and being named to the WNBA’s 50 Top Prospects list, Crawford decided to accept a contract to play professionally in Europe.

Coach Crawford, who plans to relocate to Lincoln this summer with her daughter, says she is grateful to Athletic Director Perdue for the opportunity to lead the Lady Lynx. “I want to thank AD Perdue for entrusting me to guide the women’s basketball program,” said Crawford. “I am looking forward to meeting the players soon and getting to work building on what they have accomplished so far.”
