 The students learned about the different aspects of
agriculture by going to learning stations, doing hands-on
activities, exploring the large equipment, and going through a
petting zoo. All 11 stations were ran by the FFA students.
Every year, FFA students look forward to ag day and being able to
spend the day teaching the elementary school kids about agriculture.
Senior, Molly Schempp reflected on her last four years of ag day
experiences, saying, “My last four years of ag day have been so
influential, for both the visiting students and myself. This is
because sharing Agriculture Education with the youth and seeing
their excitement to learn, gives me so much joy!”

While the kids visited the petting zoo group they
learned about the animals while petting or feeding them. Sophomore
Tyler Miller stated, “The kids really enjoyed petting and feeding
the animals. It was cool to see them interact with all the different
animals we had.”

When at the large equipment station, the kids got to
explore in the cab of the machine and learn about what each piece of
equipment did. The pieces of equipment provided for this year’s ag
day were four wheel drive tractors, a combine, a skid-steer, and
more.
At the learning stations, the kids learned about various ag related
topics including horticulture and FFA. A group favorite for the kids
seemed to be the competition of “who could put on official dress the
quickest.”
