LINCOLN
The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation Board has named two
recipients of the 2019 Healthcare Career Educational Grant. Preston
Ebelherr and Elizabeth Herzog were selected for the educational
grant after a rigorous application process that included interviews
with members of the ALMH leadership team and foundation directors.
Ms. Herzog of Lincoln will receive a $30,000 grant to help fund a
Masters of Science in Nursing from Methodist College. Mr. Ebelherr
also of Lincoln will receive $5,000 to help fund his pursuit of an
Associate’s in Radiography from Heartland Community College. The
awards include an agreement to work at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital (ALMH) in Lincoln following graduation.
Sarah Helm, executive director of the ALMH Foundation reports that
the foundation has made a commitment to invest in the future
workforce of ALMH through its healthcare career educational grant
program. Since 2013, the foundation board has awarded over $385,000
to students pursuing degrees in healthcare with intentions to work
at ALMH after graduation. Helm says the opportunity is possible
thanks to the generosity of our donors.
“Supporting the studies of students who have made job commitments to
ALMH reflects the mission of both the foundation and the hospital,”
said Eric Graue, Chairman of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital
Foundation. “We are confident that we are doing the right thing for
the students, the hospital, and our community.”
