[June 07, 2019]   LINCOLN - How do you determine the proper traffic pattern altitude? What about IFR right of way considerations? What are the proper traffic pattern entry and exit procedures? How do agricultural and ultralight aircraft operations fit in? UAS operations? Can I do a straight in approach?

There’s plenty of debate over proper traffic pattern operations, especially at non towered airports. After twenty-five years, the FAA recently published updated non- towered flight options. Andy Dow, Master CFI and Designated Pilot Examiner, will separate myth from fact and explain best practices for safe pattern ops.

Local pilot and instructor Larry Whitbeck will also give a brief presentation of the wildlife hazards present at the Logan County Airport this time of year and the mitigation strategies available to pilots.

Where: Logan County Airport / Heritage in Flight Museum
1351 Airport Road | Lincoln, IL 62656

When: Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m.

Where:  Event will be held inside the Logan County Airframe and Engine maintenance hangar located at the Logan County Airport (AAA) near Lincoln, IL.

This is an awesome fly-in opportunity! We are asking pilots to display their aircraft “car show style” at the event. Local aviators will also have their aircraft on display.

Free hot dogs, chips, and soda served at 11:00. Seminar starts at 11:30. Affordable self- serve 100LL available on the field.
