The Center for Creativity & Community to host talk by Scott Brown

[June 09, 2019]  LINCOLN - The Center for Creativity & Community will be hosting a talk by Scott Brown, 40-year veteran of martial arts, on Thursday, June 13th, at 2-3:00 PM. It is free and open to the public.

The Center, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, recently opened with a free summer youth program for 6th to 8th graders. Its purpose is to provide a place for youth to be themselves, explore their creativity, and strengthen their connection within and with others.

Brown is a retired deputy of the Logan County Sheriff’s department, a DARE instructor, a high school resource officer in Mt Pulaski, and has been teaching Taekwondo in Lincoln since 1980. He will discuss topics such as, awareness, self-discipline, bullying, and social media, plus give us a taste of the martial art, Taekwondo.

The Center is located at First Presbyterian at 301 Pekin Street in Lincoln. The summer program is Tuesdays thru Thursdays,12:30-5:00 PM, until August 1st. Youth are welcome to join at any time. For inquiries please email fpcyouth@preslincoln.org or call (217)732-6141.
