							Herman Carlin, 78, of Emden passed 
							away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Hopedale Medical 
							Complex in Hopedale.
 Herman was born on April 5, 1941 in Ottawa, the son 
							of Earl and Anna (Koeppe) Carlin.
 
 Herman is survived by his children, Teresa (Mike) 
							Robbins, Brian Carlin, and Aaron (Michelle) Carlin; 
							his grandchildren, Brittany Welk, Brooklyn Harnacke, 
							Brighton Robbins, Kaleena Carlin, Lucas Carlin, 
							Hutson Carlin, and Joel Carlin; and his 
							great-grandchildren, Mykah Welk, and Brantley 
							Harnacke. Additionally, a special thanks to Herman’s 
							niece, Kathy Pesha for the special care that she 
							took of him in his later years. He was greatly loved 
							by all his nieces and nephews.
 
 Herman was preceded in death by his parents, two 
							brothers, and one sister. Herman was the last 
							surviving member of his immediate family.

							Herman was an avid Cubs fan and he 
							was overwhelmed with joy when they won The World 
							Series in 2016. Herman had also requested that his 
							family and all in attendance to wear their Cubs gear 
							to his service. Herman proudly served his country in 
							The U.S. Marines from 1959-1963, Oorah!
 Services for Herman will be held at 10:30 a.m. on 
							Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader 
							Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place 
							prior to the service from (9:00-10:30 a.m.) also at 
							the funeral home. Burial at Camp Butler National 
							Cemetery will take place on a later date.
 
 Memorial donations may be made in Herman’s name to 
							The Hartsburg American Legion Post #1146.
