Logan County Department of Public Health offers Back to School Immunizations

 

[June 20, 2019]  LINCOLN - In addition to pencils, paper and other classroom essentials, having your child immunized should be included on every back-to-school checklist.

The Logan County Department of Public Health (LCDPH) is reminding parents that Illinois law requires students entering various grade levels to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.

According to experts at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, immunizations are a valuable public health resource, are cost-effective and help fight preventable disease throughout the community. Every child entering school or attending child-care facilities is required to comply with the Illinois immunization laws.

Each year, hundreds of parents and children visit the LCDPH clinic to meet school-entry immunization requirements. LCDPH offers a pleasant environment with a professional, experienced, friendly and local staff.

For public convenience and to keep waiting time to a minimum, the LCDPH urges families to come in as soon as possible to beat the rush for back to school immunizations.

As an incentive to receiving your school shots in June, LCDPH is offering a FREE one-day pass to the pool or the FitZone at the Lincoln Park District.
