Club music from DJ Jason Hoffman blasted onto the street in front of the Lincoln Art Institute as Logan County Arts opened their latest exhibition on Thursday evening.

Entitled International Flavors, visitors were invited on a road trip around the world courtesy of the talented members of the local art community.

Look down that wall and a street scene in London appears, or look over there and one is transported to Central America. How about a trip to Japan? Of course. And Africa? For sure. China, Israel, and Europe are further destinations to be stamped on your art passport when you walk the gallery filled with colorful images of foreign cultures.

The exhibit will remain open until July 6. Contact Mitch Douglas at 630-890-1318 or Jason Hoffman at 309-287-3744 to arrange for a visit.

Not a piece of art, but a way to make musical art. DJ station for the show compliments of Jason Hoffman.

“Suminigachi and Gyotaku” is an example of Japanese printmaking by Alice Ferguson. This contemplative art asks the viewer to create a story about the lives of the fish.

“This is Nicaragua” is an acrylic by Nicole Schwartz.

“I like to take everyday objects and create a unique transformation,” said Steve Stover of his remake of the American flag.

“Haitians Working a Sugar Cane Field” is a snapshot in paint of a recent trip Tony Shuff took to Haiti with his family. This painting drew a lot of interest, but Tony said it was a remembrance of a family moment, and NFS.

“Preaching to the Choir” by Moses Pinkerton. Moses created an international choir and had some fun at the same time becoming acquainted with the members of the chorus.

Another large and appreciative crowd wanders the gallery for International Flavors.
