Thirty-seven runs over four games. Yes, you
read that right. Post 263’s senior and junior teams combined to
do that over those four games – winning three – over the
weekend.
On Saturday, Post 263 won via blowout twice, 12 to 2 and 15 to
5. In the first win, against Morton, Brenden Eigenbrod led the
way with three hits, including a double. Chad Saner, Jr. starred
on the mound, allowing two runs on just three hits over five
innings, striking out eight and walking 2.
Then in the second game, Post 263 got revenge on Rantoul for a
loss earlier this year. An 11-run top of the first inning all
but ended the game before it started. Nate Arnold had three
hits, including a double and triple, and four RBI. Eddie Saner
had three hits, including a double, and four runs scored.
The senior team’s bats stayed hot on Sunday against Peoria on
the road, but they weren’t enough as they lost, 9 to 7. Nate
Arnold had three hits and James White had two.
However, Post 263’s junior team won in walk-off fashion against
Macon County, 3 to 2. After trailing most of the game, Post 263
tied it in the fourth at 2 before Seth Tungate sent the team
home a winner.
Post 263’s senior team (6-4) is set for a rematch with Peoria at
6 p.m. on Monday at home. Meanwhile, Post 263’s junior team is
set to play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, also at home, against Roanoke.
