Park district announces a full day of fun activities on the Fourth of July in Lincoln

[June 26, 2019]   LINCOLN - The Lincoln Park District is excited to bring to the community a full day of fun activities and family opportunities this year on the Fourth of July.

The day will start with the Old-fashioned Children's Walking Parade and will end with a spectacular fireworks display.  In between look for pool parties and family fun at the Aquatic Center, bags tournaments, live music, food vendors, inflatables, face painting and much more.

Details below:

10:00am- Old-Fashioned Children's Walking Parade

Registration will begin at 10:00am in Scully Park. Judging will start at 10:30am. The parade is for children ages 12 and younger, but parents are encouraged to accompany their children! Decorate your bicycles, tricycles, strollers, and wagons.
You may dress up and walk or grab your skateboard/roller blades. No Motorized vehicles permitted (exception: wheelchairs).

Leashed dogs are welcome to participate too!

Decorations should be patriotic in theme and will be judged for originality, creativity and effort on the part of the child.

A prize will be awarded to the winner in their category and age group. Winners will be announced at the Park District, where the parade ends.

12:00pm- Aquatic Center

Everyone will receive one FREE popsicle with admission.

There will be music and pool games to keep the family entertained all afternoon.

3:30pm- Jr. Bags Tournament

*Preregistration preferred - email Dayne at: dayneandkatie@gmail.com to register at least two days prior to the event - limited spots available*

Junior age requirement (12-17 years old) FREE TO ENTER. There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place winners.

4:00pm - Family FUN

There will be the bags tournament, inflatables, face painting, yard games, food vendors, and a DJ to get the night started right.

6:00pm- Josh Holland Band

The band will begin playing and you do not want to miss that!

You can grab yourself some food and bring a lawn chair to enjoy the music.

9:00pm- Fireworks Show

The Park District welcomes you and your family to celebrate with us!
