Logan County offering property fraud alert notifications

A public notice has been announced from Theresa Moore, Logan County Clerk and Recorder, in regards to a free online subscription to help protect the people of Logan County against property fraud.

“According to the FBI, Property and Mortgage Fraud is the fastest growing white-collar crime. It can be as simple as someone recording a fraudulent document in the County Land Records Office making it look like they now own your home or property.”

It is a top priority in the Logan County Recorder’s Office to protect the information transferred throughout the office.

Although this service will not prevent fraud from happening, it will provide an early warning system for property owners and permit them to take appropriate actions.

This service is simple, free, and offers a little extra protection for peace of mind. The program is managed by Fidlar Technologies, the county’s software provider for land records. Individuals who are interested can sign up for this service online at www.property fraudalert.com.
