Three local law officers graduate from Illinois D.A.R.E. Officer Training

LINCOLN 

On Friday, March 1, 2019, Officer Chad Eimer, Deputy Jason Rohrer, and Deputy Trent Park graduated from the 80 hour Illinois DARE Officer Training held at the Plainfield Police Department in Plainfield, IL.

Officer Eimer now joins Officer Christy Fruge and Corporal Shawn Pettit teaching DARE to our youth in Lincoln. Chad has been with the Lincoln Police for four and a half years and previously was employed with Clinton, IL, Police Department.

Deputy Rohrer has been with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for four years Deputy Trent Park has been with the Sheriff’s Office for three and a half years. Deputies Rohrer and Park will be teaching DARE to youth in schools around Logan County.

DARE has made great strides over the years to change the curriculum to psychology based and help teach our youth to make good decisions. DARE is part of the Lincoln Police Strategic Plan on reducing drugs and alcohol abuse in our community. It also is an objective of the Logan County Opioid Taskforce in helping educate our next generation.

The DARE class was held in Plainfield, Illinois, and Officer Christy Fruge donated her personal time to help teach the class that had officers from all over Illinois including Kentucky, Ohio, and Iowa. Officer Christy Fruge became a DARE instructor at the National Level in 2018.

Sheriff Landers and Chief Adams would like to congratulate Deputy Jason Rohrer, Deputy Trent Park and Officer Chad Eimer on graduating from this program as it one of the most demanding training classes they will attend.
