 Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the
musical retelling of the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of
many colors. Joseph – the favorite son of Jacob – has dreams that
seem to foretell the future. After his jealous brothers sell him
into slavery, Joseph is forced to endure a series of adventures
which challenge him to his core. However, Joseph’s ability to
interpret dreams sparks the interest of Egypt’s Pharaoh, calling on
Joseph to be his second in command. Eventually, Joseph’s brothers
find themselves unknowingly groveling at the feet of the brother
they betrayed. Joseph ultimately reveals himself and the brothers
are united. A truly timeless tale, Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat is a sing-through musical set to a multitude
of musical genres, ranging from country-western to Caribbean calypso
to pop and rock and roll. It is sure to entertain audiences of all
ages.
The show is directed by Alison Knapik, teacher at Delavan High
School. Her husband, Dave, serves as the technical director. The
show is assistant directed by Delavan band and chorus teachers
Breanna Leach and Amanda Patino. Breanna Leach also serves as the
accompanist for the show while Amanda Patino directs the show’s
children’s choir made up of 4th-6th grade Delavan Elementary
students. Bryan Diver, Delavan parent and a member of Millikin
University Theater Department is providing the lighting equipment
for the show. Delavan parent and alum Trudy Schaffner serves as the
choreographer. Delavan parent Rachel Waggoner will play in the pit
as the violinist and alum Austin Sundell will be on the drums.
An astonishing 72 Delavan students round out the cast and crew.
Seniors Sarah Carl, Morgan Hurst, and Katie Springer will play the
Narrators with Nathan Brooks portraying the title role of Joseph.
Prescott Jeckel will be doubling as the Pharaoh and Jacob.
Joseph’s brothers will be played by Jakob Dare, Parker Griffin,
Brett Sundell, Sam Carl, Josh Waggoner, Trevor Dare, Emily Butler,
Brad Hazelman, Emma Turner, Micah Waggoner, and Lily Hurst.
Brad Hazelman will be doubling as Potiphar while Ashley Jeurjens
will be dancing as his wife, Mrs. Potiphar.

Parker Griffin and Emma Turner will be doubling as the Baker and
the Butler, respectively, while Abby Brooks will be singing the part of the
Angel.
Featured dancers include Abby Brooks, Ainsley Diver, Abi Gasper, Jordan Hazelman,
Chloe Schaffner, Claire Schaffner, Tonya Tarter, and Jasmine Williams.
The rest of the female ensemble will be rounded out by Jenna
Adair, Madylin Brockhouse, Helena Sarff, Maddie Shue, Anisha Tietjen, Sofia
Troyer, and Alicia Williams.

Fifth-graders AnnaBelle Birky, Ella Brooks, Callie Gills, Madisyn Hutchinson,
Kylee Martin, Jayda Stewart, and Elijah Webb
Fourth-graders Maddy Albers, Lillian Borton, Kylin Brockhouse, Addi Fisher,
Corie Green, Nola Houston, Peyton Nafziger, Olivia Nehmelman, Lauren Saylor,
Khloe Stockham, Aiden Sydney, and Ben Yontz.
There are even rumors that a few Delavan staff members may make guest
appearances in the show.
Crew members include Austin Littlefield and Liam Bury on the soundboard, Grace
Mitchell and Mason Hungerford on the lights, and Jordyn Carton, Alex Cowling,
Emma Martin, and John Michael as the backstage crew.
