Elijah Burton named March LTEC

LINCOLN
Elijah Burton, son of Wendy and Joel Rodgers, was named the March
Student of the Month for the Culinary Arts II Program at Lincolnland
Technical Education Center. Elijah is a senior at Lincoln Community
High School.
Ms. Brenda Silano, instructor, says that Elijah is a second year
culinary arts student and he is very detailed oriented in her
classroom. Elijah has become an excellent bread maker and has become
very talented in many other areas of baking. He is an enthusiastic
student and is always one of the first to volunteer when there is a
job to do. He is always willing to take on a challenge and try a new
recipe. Elijah is outstanding in keeping the kitchen clean and
organized. He is very conscientious and detailed in the preparation
and execution of what he making. Ms. Silano says Elijah has a great
attitude and it’s a pleasure to have him in class.
Elijah has spent many years in Boy Scouts and is in the process of
earning his Eagle Scout. He also participated in the Health &
Wellness Expo at the Rec by demonstrating healthy snacks to
children.

Elijah plans to move south after high school and pursue a career in the
restaurant business.
Elijah received a $50 from the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln who sponsors this award
and honored him at a noon luncheon.
