S & S Flooring is located at 1726 Tremont Street
in Lincoln and is now offering carpeting and hard surface flooring
supplied exclusively through Mohawk.
Kicking off the cut, Scott was welcomed into the community and
congratulated on his new venture. It was mentioned that providing
buying options within our community that gives customers someplace
to look and shop before going out of town is vital to the prosperity
of the community. Guests were reminded that when we leave town to
buy we deal with a sales person that we may never see again. In the
case of flooring, we also deal with installers that we don’t know
and will possibly not see again either.
When we buy local, we are buying from friends, family, and
neighbors. We are dealing will people that we’re going to see out
and about at the coffee shop or the grocery store, and those people
are going to be much more interested in making sure the customer,
their friend or neighbor, is happy with the products and services
they received.
Scott was introduced and asked to say a few words. He
- extended his appreciation to his family for their support, as well
as friends and others who have been behind him in his venture. He
thanked everyone for coming to help celebrate the official opening
of the business.
S & S Flooring has been open for a while, and has been working to
get their Mohawk displays set up inside their show room. While
preparing for the cut on Wednesday morning Johnston pointed out that
Kathy Moos was on hand, and she was his first customer.
Also present was Sterling Banet, who sparked the idea for Scott to
start S & S Flooring. Scott had explained earlier that Sterling was
an installer and before S & S opened, Sterling and Scott talked
about how they could offer top quality products at competitive
prices if they were the dealers. Scott decided to take the plunge
and start his business and Sterling is still his primary installer.
