Railsplitters defeat Heyworth 8-1

Lincoln defeated Heyworth 8-1 on Saturday as Noah Funk went the distance and earned the win for the Railsplitters. Funk allowed just one run on three hits and struck out 12 batters over seven innings of work. 

Lincoln provided plenty of offense for Funk in the game. The Railsplitters scored three runs in the top of the second inning. Dylan Singleton's RBI single drove in the first run of the game. Later in the inning Drew Singleton reached on an error by the third baseman, allowing two runs to score. 

In the top of the fourth inning Noah Funk reached on an error and two more runs scored for Lincoln on the play. Nate Arnold then hit a double to left field, scoring Funk to stretch the Railsplitters lead to 6-0. 

Lincoln added single runs in the top half of the fifth and sixth innings to take the win by a final score of 8-1.

Justin Long led the Railsplitters offensively by going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Noah Funk had two hits for Lincoln and scored a run.
