Several Lynx finish season strong at Monmouth Invite

Several Lincoln College Track & Field athletes finished the outdoor
season with strong performances over the weekend at the Fighting
Scots Invite hosted by Monmouth College.
Placing in the top eight for the women’s squad was Amazing Ashby in
the 100 (3rd) and the LC sophomore took sixth in the long jump. In
the 400, Asia Rance came in second while Aurora Board and Deanna
Anglin placed fourth and fifth respectively. April Goetz won the
women’s 5K and took fourth in the 800. Shay Goble finished seventh
in the 400 hurdles. The 4x100 relay team of Jasmine Watson,
Jaylissia Timothy, Brianna Neal and Amazing Ashby took fourth in the
event. The 4x400 of Asia Rance, Shay Goble, Brianna Neal and Aurora
Board came in third. Morgan Meyer was fourth in high jump and
Brianna Neal finished out the scoring with a third place finish in
the triple jump.

On the men’s side Josh Turner placed second in the 100. Austin
Picton took eighth in the 100, and Roman Hampton came in second in
the 200. Daquan Lee (5th), Deriek Lawless (6th) and Christian
Raymond (7th) placed well in the 400. Ed Lopez earned a fourth place
finish in the 800. Zack Akers took second in the 5K. The 4x100 relay
team of Austin Picton, Sabree Bakari, Josh Turner and Roman Hampton
took second. The 4x400 of Ed Lopez, Daquan Lee, Christian Raymond
and Deriek Lawless came in third. Sabree Bakari won the high jump.
Jaiden Nelson was seventh in the hammer throw, and Cleveland
Richardson wound up in eighth place in the javelin competition.
Both Lincoln teams finished the event in 5th place overall out in
the eight-school competition. This was the final event of the season
for each team.
