Railsplitters defeat Rantoul 13-9

The Lincoln Railsplitters
defeated Rantoul 13-9 Monday afternoon.
Lincoln's offense exploded for 17 hits in
the game. Drew Singleton and Will Ewald led Lincoln with three
hits apiece.
The Railersplitters offense
scored three times in the top of the first inning. Brenden
Eigenbrod's two-run double pushed the first runs across. Justin
Long added an RBI single to open the game 3-0 in favor
of Lincoln.
Lincoln added runs in the second
and fourth innings before busting the game open in the top
of the fifth inning. The Railsplitters crossed home plate six
times to stretch the lead to 13-1. Long started the inning with
a double. An RBI single by Dylan Singleton scored Long. Ewald
reached base on a bunt single. Drew Singleton then singled to
score Dylan Singleton. Noah Funk added an RBI single. Finally
doubles by Nate Arnold and Eigenbrod kept the runs coming.
Arnold's doubled pushed one run home. Eigenbrod's two-run double
gave Lincoln the 13-1 lead.

Despite a six-run bottom of the
fifth inning for Rantoul, the Railsplitters hung on for the
win.
Nate Arnold earned the win
for Lincoln. He tossed two and two-thirds innings, allowing five
hits and six runs while striking out two batters and walking
one. Alex Bogdanic and Dreyden Pozsgai also pitched in middle
relief.
Cameron
Glick was the starting pitcher for Lincoln.
Nory Stewart suffered the loss
for Rantoul. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five
runs on six hits.
