The fundraiser has been quoted as “the social
event of the year” by joining a paradise theme, cheeseburgers, live
music and auction packages. With over 350 guests in attendance, this
year’s event generated over $28,500 towards CAPCIL’s mission. “This
event would not be possible without amazing community supporters who
purchase table sponsorships and/or donate auction items, food, and
volunteer their time,” said Breann Titus, Director of Agency
Development.
Guests enjoy all you can eat cheeseburgers, yummy chicken wings, and
delicious drink specials all while listening to live music provided
by J Christopher “The World’s Most Dangerous One Man Band”. The
event also boasts a live auction, silent auction, and Big Kahuna
raffle. CAPCIL provides Senior Nutrition
(Meals on Wheels), Senior Transportation, LIHEAP and Weatherization,
Head Start and Early Head Start, Foster Grandparents, Strengthening
Working Families Initiative, and the Hand Up Project which includes
Jobs for Life and financial literacy classes.
“It is the mission of CAPCIL, in partnership with
communities in our service area, to empower persons with low income
and the aged by creating and implementing poverty-fighting
initiatives for those in crisis and those that endeavor a life of
lasting independence.”
