Atlanta community offers a day
filled with Memorial Day activities

Memorial Day will be observed in Atlanta on Monday, May 27th as the
community pauses to remember and reflect upon the service and
sacrifices made by veterans.
The day will begin with the Atlanta United Methodist Church Men's
breakfast at the Atlanta firehouse located at 205 SE Vine from 7
a.m. to 9 a.m.
The Veteran's Memorial Ceremony & Atlanta Bank Concert will begin at
10:00 a.m. on the lawn of the Atlanta Public Library, 100 Race
Street. Seating is limited; please bring a lawn chair for use during
the ceremony.
We respectfully request the presence of living veterans to attend
this event to hone their fallen comrades.

This year's speaker will be Chaplain (Major) Carl Johnston, US Army retired and
the pastor of the AUMC.
VFW Auxiliary #1756 will serve lunch at the firehouse from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Rob Polen from the Atlanta Locker will also be on hand offering grilled
sandwiches at the Route 66 Park (corner of Arch and Race Street) from 10:00 -
noon.
In case of inclement weather, all activities will be held inside the Atlanta
firehouse.
