Lincoln blows out Taylorville 11-1 
Funk gets the win and slugs three doubles
 

[May 13, 2019]    The Lincoln Railsplitters played at Taylorville on Saturday and came home with an 11-1 win.

This time it was Noah Funk dealing on the mound for Lincoln. Funk earned the win and only allowed one run on six hits over five and two-thirds innings of work. Funk struck out five batters. Cameron Glick pitched in relief of Funk and tossed one and one-third innings.

Funk also led Lincoln's offense. He was 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Nate Arnold was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Colton Holliday and Justin Long also had two hits apiece for Lincoln. The Railsplitters pounded out 13 hits on the day. 

Lincoln's big inning was the top of the seventh inning when the Railsplitters exploded for seven runs. Noah Funk started the inning with a double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Funk would score on a sacrifice fly by Nate Arnold. Will Ewald also added an RBI single in the inning. The lineup batted around and Funk stepped in the batter's box again with runners on base. Funk slugged another double, this time scoring two runs. Arnold rounded out the scoring with an RBI single and Lincoln's 11-1 lead was solid heading into the Tornadoes last at-bat. Glick struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning and it was game over. 

Kyle Foraker suffered the loss for Taylorville. He threw six and one-third innings. Foraker allowed five runs on nine hits. He struck out five batters and walked one.
