Hilltoppers slug way into Regional Championship with 12-2 win over Judah Christian

The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers are headed to the Regional Championship after demolishing Judah Christian of Champaign on Wednesday at Veteran's Park by a final score of 12-2. 

 

Ben Fricke led the Hilltoppers offense with a 3-for-4 day and six RBIs. Fricke's two-run double in the first inning gave Mount Pulaski a 2-1 lead over Judah Christian. 

 

The Hilltoppers exploded for nine runs in the third inning, which was highlighted by Fricke's grand slam.

 

Tanner Farris also added an RBI triple in the inning.

 

Drew Martin added a sacrifice. The Hilltoppers were also able to score on a wild pitch and a passed ball. 

 

Grant Davis added an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth inning, which allowed the Hilltoppers to take the 12-2 win in a shortened five-inning game. 

 

Todd Kelly earned the win for Mount Pulaski. Kelly allowed two runs on three hits. Kelly struck out eleven batters.

 

Mount Pulaski (21-5) will play Decatur St. Teresa on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the Regional Championship.
