Lincoln defeats Washington 3-0 in regional action
Nate Arnold tosses a gem to lead the Railsplitters to victory

[May 23, 2019]    The Railsplitters got a superb outing on the mound from senior Nate Arnold on Wednesday as Lincoln shutout Washington 3-0. Arnold tossed seven innings of shutout baseball and only allowed two hits. He struck out six batters.

Lincoln took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Will Ewald. The Railsplitters added two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Arnold helped his own cause with an RBI single and he came around to score on an error by Washington. The 3-0 lead was plenty for Arnold and company against Washington.

The Railsplitters improve to 20-14 on the season and play for a regional championship on Saturday at Morton. Lincoln will play Morton for the championship at 11 a.m.
