The visiting Railsplitters scored early with a run in the first

Trent Koehler.
Lincoln's offense plated three runs in the top of the third inning,
with a two-run double by Colton Holliday being the highlight of the

Lincoln Railsplitters coach August Casson was proud of his team's
performance against Morton. "We played a very good ballgame from
start to finish," said Casson. "Our plan was to start Noah Funk and
have Noah keep us in the game as long as he could. He did a great
job mixing speeds up and keeping their hitters off balance. He threw
five good innings, and our defense did a great job.
"Will Ewald made an excellent play on a line drive over his head and
doubled up a Morton base runner. To me this was a game changer.
"Once we got the lead we brought in Holliday and he pretty much
sealed the deal for us, striking out four batters in two innings."
"Overall a well-played game," continued Casson.
"Our guys have started to buy into what we want to accomplish and
are playing as a cohesive team. It is fun to watch."
Nate Arnold and Justin Long each had two hits to lead the Lincoln
offense over Morton.
Cade Coon took the loss for Morton.
Lincoln (21-14) will play Dunlap Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the
Morton Sectional.
Congratulations and GO RAILERS!
