West Lincoln-Broadwell to honor
local veterans November 8th

Students, faculty and staff of West Lincoln - Broadwell school will
be honoring our veterans on Friday, November 8th, at 9:00 a.m. in
the gym.
All are invited to attend, especially our local veterans, as well as
student parents and family members.
The Color Guard will be from American Legion Post 263 and will be
accompanied by Eric Natto with Bagpipes.
The guest speaker this year is Lincoln resident Colonel James P.
Allen, a Faculty Instructor for the U.S. Army War College. The
Colonel has an extensive resume covering his 28 years of active and
reserve duties.
In addition, the students will be performing songs and poems
dedicated to America and recognizing our veteran's service.
Following the program, the veterans are invited to sample the treats
and coffee in the library hosted by the school.

Engineer, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center
Colonel James (Jim) P. Allen is a Research Civil Engineer and
Program Manager with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development
Center in Champaign, Illinois; a Faculty Instructor for the U.S.
Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and a PhD student in the
Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of
Illinois.

In his current position he serves as an instructor at the senior service college
for the Army, applies professional engineering and strategic planning expertise
along with extensive military and transportation experience to provide
innovative solutions for autonomous vehicle deployments on installations and
resilience plans. Jim has held numerous positions over 28 years of Army active
duty and reserve component service including military commands at the company
and field grade officer levels.
