The Lincoln College Wrestling team saw their
first action of the 2019-2020 season over the weekend. The Lynx,
under the direction of second-year head coach Jordan Bakley,
competed at the Dr. Bob Kellogg Open hosted by MacMurray College
in Jacksonville, Illinois.
No team scores were kept at the six-team invitational, but LC’s
Dominic Tenayuca, a freshman from Algonquin, Illinois was the
Lynx sole champ on the day at the 149 lb weight class. Others
who placed for Lincoln included Christian Dangle (3rd @ 174lbs),
Devion Yancey (4th @ 157lbs) and Jack Hale (5th @ 133lbs). Brad
Burbes and Clayton Stock each finished in 6th place at the133lbs
and 285lbs divisions.
Coach Bakley was pleased with the results of the event. “I saw a
lot of good things this weekend,” said Bakley. “A majority of
our freshman wrestled in their first college match and they were
ready to go. I am excited to see how we do at Milliken next
week!” he added.
The Lynx will be back in action next weekend at the Millikin
Open in Decatur, Illinois.
