The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team
slipped to 1-2 on the season on Saturday after a 67-55 loss at
home to William Woods University.
WWU lead by two points at the end of the first quarter and was
able to extend that lead to nine at the half (34-25). Lincoln
came out with a strong effort in the third quarter to outscore
William Woods 11-9, but were unable to hold on to that momentum
down the stretch and had to settle for the 12-point defeat.
Senior Erynn Young (Indianapolis) led the offensive attack for
LC with 18 points. Fellow senior Nautica Preston (Chicago) was
good for 13 points and Kaliea Monteiro (Rockford) led the team
with 10 rebounds.
Lincoln will look to get back in the winner’s circle on November
5th at Governor’s State University. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM.
