The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team
needed some late-game heroics to pull off a 57-55 road victory
over Governor’s State University on Tuesday evening. Lincoln
junior center Elizabeth Bankole (Rockford) sunk a basket with
just 54 seconds left in the game to put the Lady Lynx up by two.
The LC defense held off GSU the rest of the way to seal the win.
Senior Nautica Preston (Chicago) led the LC offense earning 11
of her team-high 16 points at the free throw line. Junior
forward Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford) recorded a double-double by
scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Next up for Lincoln (2-2) will be a home game on November 9th at
1:00 PM versus Indiana University East.
