It has come to my attention that the burning of leaves on the
streets of Mount Pulaski has been occurring recently.
Please be considerate of the breathing problems this may cause with
persons suffering from asthma or other lung disorders in addition to
the unappealing appearance this causes on our city streets.
I would like everyone to reference the below listed Mount Pulaski
City Ordinance with regard to this matter and the penalties incurred
with each violation of this section.
I am asking that residents bag their leaves and leave them on the
boulevards so the street crews who have informed me that they have
been authorized to pick up the leaves, can do so for proper
disposal. If burning is necessary for the purpose of disposal on
YOUR property, be aware of wind conditions that may blow smoke
directly toward a specific residence and/or business. This is
allowed from dawn to dusk if atmospheric conditions are conducive to
proper disposal without infringing on the comfort of those living in
the immediate area.
