Leverton has had a brick and mortar store in
Lincoln for the last couple of years. She began by opening her
bridal boutique on North Kickapoo Street in the former Krotz and
Sons building. However, she quickly outgrew that location as she
expanded her offerings of bridal and formal wear to accommodate the
demand for such items not just locally but throughout the region.
Moving to her new address at 2970 Woodlawn Road offered Leverton a
very beautiful location with tons of space for the more than 270
wedding gowns she has on display. In addition to wedding gowns,
Simply Elegant also carries mother of the bride, flower girl,
bride’s maid dresses, prom dresses, first communion dresses, tuxedo
rental, and wedding décor such as reception table linens and more.
Friday evening, Nila Smith led the ribbon cutting ceremony, thanking
everyone for attending and introducing the many in attendance from
county and city government.
Those on hand included representing Logan County Mary Kelley, Penny
Thomas and Theresa Moore. Representing the city of Lincoln were
Mayor Seth Goodman, Kevin Bateman, Kathy Horn, Ron Keller and Tracy
Welch. Also on hand were Morgan Gleason and Cindy Smith with the
Logan County Tourism Bureau, Marcia Cook of Castle Manor, Darcie
Culbertson of St. Clara’s Rehab & Senior Care, Karen Hargis of
Lincoln Daily News and several friends and family of Leverton and
Rademaker.
During the cut, Smith noted that Leverton has been doing wedding
décor for the last several years, but that a couple of years ago,
the shop owner decided to expand her offerings to include bridal
attire, fulfilling a dream. She quickly outgrew her first location,
which Smith noted and commented that the new location signified
growth and success for the business in our community.
Leverton was introduced along with her husband George. Cheri spoke
saying she wanted to thank everyone for attending the ribbon cut and
open house and that she was very happy with her new location and
appreciative of the support of those around her.
Smith asked if anyone else wished to speak, and Morgan Eads, a good
friend to Leverton did so. She said that she was very happy for
Leverton and very proud of the success Cheri has had with her bridal
business.
Mayor Goodman was the last person to address the group. He noted
that the inside of the store was really beautiful and expressed
appreciation to Leverton for investing in Lincoln for her business.
With the speeches concluded Leverton was accompanied by her husband
and friend front and center for the traditional posed pictures then
the countdown to the snipping of the ribbon.

Guests were all invited inside where there was plenty of good food
and lots of room for guests to cluster and visit for a time. Many of
the gals enjoyed perusing through the gowns while the men chatted
and enjoyed the food.
For those interested in visiting the shop, Simply Elegant is located
at 2790 Woodlawn Road in Lincoln. The store is closed on Monday’s
but open the rest of the week.
Cheri carries a wide variety of bridal attire and also has a
beautiful selection of prom dresses and formal wear.
She offers prom dress registry to assure no one buying at her shop
will show up at prom the same dress as another Cheri customer.
Another fun item she has in her store is the magic mirror, a step up
from the traditional “selfie,” it takes and instantly prints photos
of the special days the women spend shopping in her store.
Congratulations to Cheri on her move, and best of luck in the
future.
