The celebration starts with the Minier Fire Department pancake
and sausage breakfast from 6 to 10 A.M. at the fire house which
is located at the intersection of Minier Avenue and West Central
Street in the village of Minier. The Minier Christmas parade
rolls at 4:00 P.M. on Main Street in the central business
district. Following the parade from 5 until 8 P.M., Santa and
two of his reindeer will be in Minier Veteran’s Park which is
located at 105 West Park Street. Cookies, hot chocolate, and
talented Christmas Carolers will all be provided during the
post-parade event. Horse drawn wagons will be available to
provide an enjoyable tour of the village and its Christmas
displays created by village residents. The Minier Library is
hosting a workshop for residents and visitors to make homemade
Christmas ornaments for your own tree.
From 9-5, both vendors and village merchants will have an
assortment of holiday items available for sale and tram service
will be available from 9-5 to provide transportation between
parking and the different vendor locations.
Numerous vendors are registered for the event and will be in
four separate locations within the village. Fresh cut Christmas
trees will be available for sale so that you can continue this
celebration at home while putting up your family Christmas tree.

The holidays are meant to be a time of joy for everyone and participating in
this event will help bring joy to the less fortunate during this holiday season.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Minier Community Claus and will help
brighten Christmas for a lot of children. For entry to the events in Veteran’s
Park after the parade, a wristband is needed for admission and these are
available for $5 in the village office prior to the 30th or they can be
purchased at Veteran’s Park for $7 during the event. In addition to post-parade
event entry, your wrist band purchase also includes pictures with Santa and two
of his reindeer.
Plan now on coming to the village of Minier on Saturday November 30th to
experience the best of central Illinois hospitality while getting your holiday
season off to a fun start. The Olympia Area Kiwanis Club (sponsoring the Parade)
and the Village of Minier (sponsoring all other activities) look forward to
sharing our Classic Country Christmas with you and your family.
