Featuring simulations in the Memorial Center for Learning and
Innovation, a free community event will teach the public how to
handle life-threatening bleeding incidents.
The interactive program, “Stop the Bleed,” will be offered in two
sessions. The first will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12;
the second from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13.
Seating is limited to 60 participants each session. Participants can
register for either session.
"An injury can cause a person to bleed to death in less than five
minutes," said Lindsey Petersen, a quality review registered nurse
in emergency medical services at Memorial Medical Center.
“Life-threatening bleeds can happen at home, at work or in the
community from either a natural or intentional wound. This course
will help the public learn how to act immediately to save themselves
or someone else."
